A new combi boiler supplied and fitted by Phoenix starts from £2,499. A straight swap of an old combi for a new one is the simplest and usually the lowest-cost job. Converting from an older system is more work, so it costs more.
Combi swap or conversion?
A like-for-like combi swap uses the existing pipework and flue position where possible and is often finished in a day. A conversion from a regular or system boiler means removing the loft tanks and hot water cylinder, changing pipework and sometimes moving the boiler. It usually takes two to three days and costs more, but frees up the airing cupboard and loft space.
Is a combi right for your home?
- Good for: homes with one bathroom, flats and smaller houses, and homes where space is tight
- Less suited to: homes with two or more bathrooms used at the same time, or homes with low mains water pressure
Because a combi heats water on demand, the flow depends on your mains water pressure. We check this during the survey.
What affects the price?
- The output of the boiler, sized to your home
- The brand and warranty length
- Flue changes or a new flue route
- Moving the boiler
- Upgrading the gas pipe
- A system flush and filter to protect the new boiler
- Smart controls
